Frank Palangi – Purple Haze 2025 (ft. Henry Chauhan)

This 2025 version of “Purple Haze,” originally performed by Jimi Hendrix, is much heavier and more modern. The track begins with a stronger guitar tone, busier drum patterns, and a sophisticated, contemporary production that differentiates it from the classic original. As the vocals enter, the song takes on a late-1980s hard rock vibe, sleazy, slightly darker, and even looking at grunge influences. Despite these artistic changes, the upbeat energy maintains the essence of the original while showing that a classic rock song can be transformed with new energy. The differences are particularly obvious in the instrumental elements. Between 2:08 and 2:16, the bass lines offer a stronger, more aggressive vibe to the groove. Later, around 2:41, the guitar solo becomes stronger and punchy, backed by powerful drumming that increases the overall impact of the production. Overall, this version of “Purple Haze” extends beyond generations, honouring Hendrix’s history while adding a modern hard rock touch that gives the song a fresh power and attitude.
