Robin Ross & The Melodynes – Echo Of Love

The second single from Robin Ross & The Melodynes’ upcoming sophomore album, Mind Space, which is distributed by RPM Entertainment, is titled “Echo Of Love.” Ross and renowned engineer Jonathan Duckett (Philip Glass, Kenny G, David Sanborn) produced and engineered the album, which was recorded at Baa Baa Leaf Music Studio in Milford, Pennsylvania. The album’s level is obvious at first listen. The song has a cosy, analogue vibe that is intentionally based on conventional songwriting styles. The song begins with folk-rock beats and a story-driven vocal performance that recalls Grace Slick’s expressive strength and Marianne Faithfull’s emotional confidence. Classic rock guitar lines take center stage as the arrangement develops, combining in perfectly with a semi-acoustic sound that enhances the song’s warm vibe. The rock ‘n’ roll guitar solo at 2:15 adds a welcome touch of nostalgia as well as confirms the song’s eternal impact, while the chorus is clearly radio-friendly. Robin Ross’ soft synth lines add another dimension to the atmosphere, bringing an AOR character characteristic of late-1970s pomp rock, giving the song a gentle elegance without overloading its melodic core. Lyrically, “Echo Of Love” explores the concept of emotional mutuality; two hearts reflecting and enhancing one another until harmony is achieved. With its powerful melodic awareness and retro-inspired atmosphere, the track is both warm and authentic, expressing a romantic idealism that complements its historical musical spectrum.
