Galactapus – The Lustful Arts

You are set up for an odd and strange listening experience by the track’s introductory Folk guitar riff and the strange electronic sound. As the Monsterous vocals fade into the background of the aural field, you become aware of what is about to happen. The end product, however, is totally different from what you might have anticipated from a Death Metal band that will plunge you into absolute anarchy! The singer’s “monster-like” vocals compete with the guitar’s acoustic Folk/Country music styles and most likely portray a dark story. This listening experience reminded me of a Folk-Country rendition of the early Marilyn Manson with a Tiger Lillies-like attitude. The song has a satirical look, but it is musically focused on a melancholy route and successfully creates a cinematic and fairytale atmosphere. This song would be appropriate for a Gothic celebration or Halloween night to scare the audience and wake up old stories with a tragic end.
