Lord Sonny The Unifier – Howl (Track Review)

1 min read

Lord Sonny the Unifier is a Brooklyn-based Alternative Rock band that released a new track. The song begins with a semi-acoustic, catchy guitar riff that grabs you from the first note! It is groovy, loud and very concert-friendly due to its time signatures and variety of musical influences (do I hear Prog synth lines between 2:44 and 2:58?). The singer has a unique style that reminds me of a cross between Roky Erickson and Brian Johnson (AC/DC) although the music cannot be categorised as Hard Rock. I would say that most of the music influences come from the 1990s or early 2000s due to the orchestration and production of this single. Since we are discussing production, the audio mix and the mastering are OK, with no issues concerning the sound quality. My suggestion would be to continue their successful journey by incorporating more musical instruments (e.g., synth lines) to augment their orchestration and deliver a unique result for the listeners.
