Matia – Children (Track review)

1 min read

Matia is a singer/songwriter from Los Angeles with a powerful story behind her music. She struggled for her life due to a serious illness but managed to come back in music with the help of veteran composer/guitarist/producer Kenny Mazur, who played and recorded with such diverse artists as Robert Palmer and Tina Turner. Matia (a Greek word translated as “eyes”) offers an insightful “look” at her deeper feelings by recording an emotional acoustic song called “Children.” The track is very “personal” in the way that it is performed by Matia; every word that comes from her mouth seems to have a special meaning for her inner journey and a special meaning for her route in life. Despite the dark mood that the music initially delivers, the beautiful back vocals create a beautiful atmosphere and act as the light in the darkness or the light at the end of the tunnel. The combination of music (acoustic guitars and piano) and the vocals lead to a melodic Folk song through the looking glass of legendary artists such as Stevie Wonder and Elton John.
