Minnegasco – Tar Mazzan
The music begins with calming New Age harmonies before slowly evolving into an indie-pop arrangement. The warm vocal melodies create a dreamy atmosphere, and the mix of modern production and folk music gives the song a lovely folk-pop style. The inspirations here are diverse, ranging from Coldplay to The Cure’s more commercial side (particularly in some of the vocal melodies). The addition of female vocals about 1:50 gives warmth to the composition, while the accordion gradually rises in importance in the audio mix thereafter. This achieves an intriguing mix between contemporary indie-pop production and traditional folk elements, but the melodic vocals stay at the heart of the song.
As the music comes to its conclusion, the many elements come together naturally, with the accordion and layered vocals
resulting in a warm and melodic ending.Tar Mazzan is a peaceful, atmospheric song that expertly integrates folk music
with modern indie-pop style, resulting to an easy and pleasant listening.
