Plasmajet – Deceptive Security
Deceptive Security begins with a low-key guitar fade-in that combines melodic guitar phrasing with a burst of shredding, combining two opposing styles into a fascinating opening. When the vocals come in, the song takes on an old-school vibe, recalling the essence of 1990s stoner rock while also remembering Motörhead’s raw vocal attitude and Tank’s NWOBHM-era sound. The song embraces its stoner rock nature, powered by heavy, sludgy guitar tones and an intentionally rough sound that complements the music’s rough style. Rather than aiming for elegant clarity, the muddy mix contributes to the song’s mood and atmosphere, emphasising its underground popularity. The strong and solid rhythm section gives it strong basis, allowing the guitars to stand out without overriding the overall balance. The chorus is the song’s highlight, with a strong, groove-driven guitar riff that matches the raw vocal performance. The combination of crushing guitars, earthy sound, and old-school hard rock elements creates a track that sounds authentic and uncompromising. Deceptive Security is ideal for late-night bars, smokey clubs, and anyone who enjoys the harder side of stoner rock and vintage metal.
