Mickey Lyxx – Caporetto
“Caporetto” blasts from the beginning with crushing riffs and continuous energy, providing a typical heavy metal onslaught ideal for headbanging. As female vocals enter the mix, the song takes on an identifiable 1980s metal spirit, combining high vocal melodies with amazing guitar shredding. There are traces of bands like Hellion, and the use of symphonic synths gives the arrangement a more dramatic and contemporary touch. One of the song’s strongest features is its musicianship. The guitar work is technically exceptional, with fast, precise performances that will immediately grab the interest of fellow musicians and metal fans. The interplay of powerful riffs, melodic leads, and symphonic layers results in a dynamic sound that maintains vitality throughout the composition. From a production standpoint, more clarity in the audio mix and more EQ modification (frequencies separation) during mastering would make the individual instruments stand out even more. Nonetheless, these are minor observations in an otherwise outstanding performance. “Caporetto” is a highly skilled and extremely aggressive heavy metal track that combines classic metal influences with a new symphonic touch.
