“The Weight” begins with a strong 1990s grunge aesthetic, obviously inspired by bands such as Pearl Jam, but also incorporates elements of pop punk, particularly in its fast  guitar riffs. This combination produces a sound that is nostalgic and pleasant. The music is groove-driven and focuses around guitars, with heavy distortion and sometimes stoner rock elements. Despite the heaviness, the vocals maintain a continuous and controlled energy rather than becoming overly aggressive, which helps balance and make the whole sound easier to hear. Around 2:50, the song develops in speed, adding a youthful and bright energy that drives the song into its final moments. This evolves into an organic and fitting guitar solo, eventually bringing the music to a close. Overall, “The Weight” is an upbeat, guitar-driven track with a distinct 1990s vibe. Its production avoids unimportant effects, instead aiming for a minimal, compact, and raw approach that emphasises its authenticity and powerful attitude.
