Sword Tongue – Diamonds to Rust (Anthony H Remix)
Sword Tongue’s new single “Diamonds To Rust (Anthony H Remix)” is an innovative electronica remake of the original Diamonds To Rust. The band is made up of vocalist Jennifer Wilde and guitarist Gaetano Maleki, a husband-and-wife team who started the project during the pandemic year of 2020. They are currently joined by Dan Milligan, a well-known drummer and producer. The remix was created by Electro-Industrial DJ/artist Anthony H. (Anthony Hudson), a charting Industrial, electro bass, and EBM producer known for his work with Empirion, Omnimar, Sebastian Komor, Moaan Exis, Matt Hart, Dark Tunes, Ruined Conflict, Die Warzau, Spankthenun, Solemn Assembly, 40 Octaves Below, and Nettwerk Records’ Anthony Valcic (Frontline Assembly, Skinny Puppy, Numb). According to the band, “This is a track born out of an anxious reckoning of the unending progress of time, counting down to the inevitable end we all face.” These days, when all we want is to relax and pause, we are reminded that time does not wait for us; it rushes forward whether we are ready or not. The remix begins with tribal-inspired percussion, creating an atmospheric heartbeat before the guitars enter, forming a dance-meets-rock hybrid characteristic of KMFDM’s more melodic tracks. The mid-tempo beat complements the arrangement without dominating it, and the guitars have a dreamy, reverbed vibe that provides depth to the atmosphere. The vocals lean toward a dream-pop aesthetic, unfolding in a storytelling style that emphasizes atmosphere and the story. As the song approaches the chorus, the tempo is intentionally kept unchanged, allowing listeners to concentrate on the lyrical content rather than being pushed into high-speed dance excitement. Overall, this remix is an intelligent dance music with a dreamy, peaceful vibe, balancing rhythm and thinking with remarkable talent.
