David O’Leary – The Fear Within
“The Fear Within” begins with powerful, AI-generated female vocals that provide an R&B-flavored mood, creating a fascinating contrast to the entirely human music behind them. The song features an excellent lineup: Bruce Bouillet (Racer X) plays energetic, expressive guitar solos, while Mike Vanderhule (Y&T) plays tight, strong drums. David O’Leary handles the bass, rhythm guitars, and keyboards, providing the song with a strong musical base. The combination of pop taste and rock skill contributes to the track’s attractiveness. The male/female vocal interaction gives the song a polished, modern vibe, while the guitar work adds roughness and dimension. The production maintains a careful balance, keeping the pop direction obvious in the mix while not overpowering the rock aspects. The final outcome is a crossover composition that feels both creative and mainstream.
