L.A.’s Premiere Goth Electro Duo NIGHT CLUB Pay Tribute To Revered Dark Rock Queen SIOUXSIE SIOUX With A Dancefloor Filling “CITIES IN DUST!”

If you haven’t caught a live performance of mesmerizing vocalist Emily Kavanaugh and producer/instrumentalist Mark Brooks, the duo behind one of the most buzzed about bands in the L.A. music scene, Night Club, then you are missing out. The two have been captivating audiences both live and on record since the release of their self-titled debut EP in 2012 and seemingly single-handedly reviving the seedy, celebratory delights of vintage gothic darkwave music. Recently, the band was invited to offer their take on one of the most influential dance-rock tracks of all-time, the brilliant “Cities In Dust” from the critically acclaimed 1986 Siouxsie & The Banshees album from, Tinderbox.

Serendipitously coinciding with a massive spike in interest around Siouxsie Sioux, a result of her performing for the first time in 15 years at the massive Cruel World festival earlier this year, Night Club’s take on “Cities In Dust” bristles with carnal energy, trading the original’s delicate keyboards for full wall-of-sound synth overload and throbbing, bass-heavy drums. Kavanaugh’s dramatically softer voice gives the track both a more accessible and far more sensual feel while Brooks’ multi-layered production finds the perfect place for each sonic element.

Night Club declare, “We’re honored to be part of the Siouxsie and the Banshees tribute record as we’re massive fans. We chose ‘Cities In Dust’ as we thought we could do it justice and add our own flavor to such a classic track.”
