Kodaclips – Not My Sound (Track Review)

1 min read

Italy’s Kodaclips is a Shoegaze/Post-Punk band. Slint, Swervedriver, DIIV, and the Italogaze scene are among the musicians who have impacted them musically. Their project began in late 2021, and on September 23rd, “Glances,” their debut album, was released.

“Not My Sound” by Kodaclips, is a unique and compelling piece of music that showcases the artist’s talent and creativity.

The song opens with a dreamy and atmospheric intro that sets the tone for the rest of the track. As the beat comes in, Kodaclips’ vocals take centre stage, with a smooth and emotive delivery that perfectly complements the hypnotic production and the Reverb-ish guitar sound.

The lyrics are introspective and thought-provoking, exploring themes of identity and self-discovery. Kodaclips sings about feeling like an outsider and not fitting in, but also about the importance of staying true to oneself and following one’s own path.

The production is masterfully done, with a mix of organic and electronic elements that create a unique and immersive sound. The track is filled with intricate and unexpected details, from the subtle vocal effects to the unexpected tempo changes. I highly recommend this track to anyone who loves music that pushes boundaries and explores new sounds and ideas in Shoegaze and beyond…
