Feedbag – Flesh Freaks

1 min read

Flesh Freaks is a strange and hard to categorise album by the artist Feedbag, the track features a dynamic blend of Dream Pop, Post-Punk and Shoegaze elements, creating a sound that is relaxing, emotional, and memorable. I am sure that bands like the Cocteau Twins have inspired and led the artistic vision of the artist Feedbag  over the years.

The fuzzy, almost lo-fi production creates a dreamy “house” for the album by boosting the emotional performance of the singer and placing the listener in the heart of a musical soundscape. The orchestration is based on the “semi-acoustic environment meets synth pads” music style, accompanied by an ethereal voice that makes the final audio result catchy, smooth, and easy-listening. Regarding the production, I like the lo-fi atmosphere; however, I feel that the guitars sometimes sound overcompressed due to the atmosphere of the album. From my perspective, I would prefer a different direction for the guitar parts (clearer and less fuzzy) in order to unleash the album’s rock direction, even with some delay/reverb effects to ease the potential raw sound.

Overall, Feedbag’s album Flesh Freaks demonstrates her ability to create powerful, emotionally charged music. If you’re a fan of Goth-inspired music, then this album is a must-listen that is sure to leave a lasting impression.
