No Fucking Good – Good For Nothing

No Fucking Good, the wayward sons of California, blur the boundaries between punk and metal while maintaining the anarchistic veins of the old-school. The Bronx, Murder City Devils, Cro-Mags, Black Flag, Dwarves, Fukm, and Suicidal Tendencies are cited as some of their shared influences. This album is an amalgam of the two mentioned music genres, although the Hardcore Punk influence here is more obvious than the Metal vibes, except for the singer, who seems to be the metalhead of the gang! The overall aesthetic result is excellent because it reminds me of the roster of the “People Like You” record label, which specialised in the Punk Meets Metal crossover scene. The production in the studio sounds professional, and the musical instruments sound crystal clear without sacrificing audio quality for the DIY mentality of the band. Regarding music references, I would say that it reminds me a lot of the Cro-Mags and the Machine Head (on the vocal lines), which sounds very cool to my ears!
