The well-known Swedish producer and mixer Andreas Ahlenius’ electronic side project is called DAS ELITE. Over the years, Andreas has collaborated with numerous international gold- and platinum-selling musicians. Andreas views DAS ELITE as a retreat, a creative endeavour, and a project that navigates in its own personal soundscape. Regarding the Torment EP, I am sure that it will transport you to a dreamy and melancholic environment surrounded by Electro, Synthwave and other music genres that complete the personal vision of Andreas Ahlenius. First of all, the music production and mix are super clear, allowing enough space for all the participating sounds in the audio field. This is a sensation that you will probably experience through your headphones, so I guess this is the best way to enjoy this EP. On a musical orchestration level, the artist mainly works with synths and virtual instruments, which offers him artistic freedom towards the moods that he intends to create through his music. The mood of this EP is frankly romantic and nostalgic, which is helped by the dreamy tone of the singer and the reverb/delay effects that boost the commercial and artistic value of the project. If you are into Electro music in the style of Depeche Mode and you also have some neo-Prog second thoughts (e.g., Muse), then you are probably going to like this beautiful EP.
