Beyond The Void – Mother Earth (Track Review)

1 min read

With the intention of blending numerous inspirations, Beyond The Void was created in Strasbourg in 2018. The group suggests a Death Metal that balances brutality and delicacy and is flavoured with traditional, progressive, and contemporary elements. The track “Mother Earth” is purely technical, reminding me a lot of the old-school music from the band Death and the guitar skills of Chuck Schuldiner. The raw, brutal vocals in combination with the musicianship of the band deliver an impressive “package” for the listener, who will enjoy the band’s talent for sure. On a music production level, I think that the drum parts require a reconsideration in the music mix because sometimes the sound is weaker than expected (e.g., the cymbals). However, I can understand that this is a matter of taste for the producer and may not affect the listener’s overall impression. The guitar solos, as I mentioned earlier, are cool and technical, attracting even fans from the Progressive Rock scene. Overall, the band has potential for cool shows and Metal of outstanding quality!
