Sonic Sovereign, a rock band from Detroit, is the offspring of traditional 70s rock, 90s alt grunge, and Tom Petty’s well-known acoustic songwriting. Joshua L. Schmidt, the band’s main singer and grammy-nominated vocalist and award-winning composer, Mike Lucca, and Tony Monteleone, the drummer, work together to create an astounding mix of rock mastery that evokes long-gone rock eras of glory.
Detroit may not immediately come to mind when discussing country arena rock, but here we are with Sonic Sovereign’s incredible brand-new hit single, “Intertwined.” It is really a song about falling in love. Knowing that their lives would never be the same and that their connections would last a lifetime after making their first eye contact. Intertwined creates a sincere and impactful experience thanks to Mike Lucca’s captivating guitar playing and an acoustic beat.
The vocal performance by lyricist Joshua L. Schmidt, a grammy nominee and winner, is outstanding. The catchy choruses’ intensity is highlighted by the close harmonies. Inspired by his first encounter with his wife, the song recounts the events leading up to that first meeting, including the promises that come with it as two souls begin to co-create.
