Olivier Metayer – I Won You Lost (Track Review)

This is a Pop/Rock track with a catchy orchestration that includes the basic structure of a traditional Rock track, however, the mastering and the whole production offer a Pop character to the track and a radio friendly vibe. The voice of the female singer reminds me of Melissa Etheridge, Marianne Faithfull, or even Anastasia, especially in the chorus section. The lyrics have a positive message through the darkness (“I am not afraid anymore”), and the song is dedicated to all women who have experienced painful and dangerous experiences with toxic relationships. I think that the positive attitude, in addition to the up-tempo musical structure, offers an interesting impression and potential for the next musical endeavor of the artist.
