Ashley Warner – 19 (Track review)

The piano intro reminds me of the soundtrack of old horror movies by Hammer Films and prepares the listener for a dark mood and an atmosphere that leads you (musically speaking) to the musical “daze” of Alice Cooper, Marilyn Manson, and Wednesday 13. The musical influences are obvious when Ashley Warner speaks for the first time, and you realize how the previously mentioned Shock Rock titans have ruled Ashley’s world. The song is a gothic ballad until the 2:27 mark of the timeline, when the electric guitar crashes into the dark party to paint the world of the singer with even grayer musical colors, anger, and sadness. I would recommend this track for horror movie nights and Halloween performances due to its atmosphere and dark character.
