So No Album Release by Big Al Staggs reveals an amagalma of Punk Rock nostalgia and MTV aesthetics

1 min read

With the Norfolk, Virginia band Left Wing Fascists, Big Al began his punk rock career in 1987. He will release his second solo album, So No, in 2022. Stacy Heydon, well known for playing guitar for David Bowie and Iggy Pop, is also the composer and producer of the music.

So No is the title of a new album by Big Al Staggs. a follow-up to the release of So Lo 2020. To release 11 songs created by Big Al and Stacy, he has once more teamed up with longtime collaborator and friend Stacy Heydon. The singles “Welcome To Island Time” and “Dummy Ate A Gummy” have both been released as music videos. The music has gotten favorable reviews on Sirius XM channel 21 The Underground Garage.

The album follows the Punk Rock tradition of raw guitar riffs and angry vocals, however her we have a little 1980s Pop/rock nostalgia with some tracks that remind me of the first videos of MTV back in the day.
