2 min read

Digital stores care only about the algorithms! How Does #Spotify Work? Forget investing time on composing music and learn (or ask someone else’s help) to play with the algorithms and the artificial intelligence. Start your “journey” with the following article:

The next content to check out, is a kind of “social hacking” video that discusses both technical and non technical methods to influence legally the Spotify algorithms and place your song into important Playlists with a lot of streams. Find out about the value of “Pre-save” option that comes through your digital distributor and affects the popularity of your song during the Release Day. Other topics of discussion, include technological methods such as collaborative filtering and natural language processing . This is a very interesting video to find out how the digital music industry works…

Let me explain you how artificial intelligence works with the streaming music services such as Spotify, Napster, etc. I wrote a short article about the digital access to the music, read the article here: http://skylight.gr/index.php/2019/03/10/digital-access-to-the-music-but-what-about-the-collectors/

By using an Artificial Intelligence tool, I implemented a sentiment analysis of the article’s content. The analysis displayed that the feeling upon reading my article is: “Neutral (+0.175)” The featured themes of the article are displayed in the picture below:

The same type of analysis could be implemented by applying the sentiment analysis in an audio file. The output of the report will be able to prove the potential emotion of the user upon listening to a specific song and the featured themes in terms of song lyrics. Afterwards, it matches the result of the report with the needs of the listener. For instance, we assume that “Neutral” means “Angry” and “Sad” on emotional level for Spotify. If my music is “Neutral (+0.175)” then the system’s could suggest it to listeners looking for “angry” or “sad” music on Spotify’s search engine.
