SABATON: Greek nation would rather die than lose their freedom!

Swedish heavy metal heroes SABATON – best known for singing almost exclusively about historical wars and battles, a direction the band members were inspired by after watching the 1999 Academy Award-winning film Saving Private Ryan – released their latest, highly-acclaimed record, The Last Stand, on August 19 through Nuclear Blast and have entered the Top 10 of the World Charts with a fantastic #6. This result shows that SABATON are more successful globally than ever before (for example, taking the #1 spot in Sweden, Finland, Switzerland, Czech Republic, #2 in Germany, Austria, Poland and many more).

SABATON released a new lyric video for the song ‘Sparta’.

The band comments: “The battle of Thermopylae is in many ways one of the most iconic last stands in history. King Leonidas and his 300 Spartans were certainly not as alone as portrayed in the famous movie “300”, but in the end it was their sacrifice that would be remembered by the world to come. An amazing story of the Greek nation states which would rather die than lose their freedom.”
