3 min read

Interview with Tony Vulic

1. Hello guys, please introduce yourself to the rest of the Skylight world..

Our motto – ‘We don’t do covers’ What ya hear on the cd, is how we are live. That’s honest, that’s pure rock & roll

2. You have recently signed with Heart Of Steel records, how did you contact them? Does the contract includes your representation in Europe or in global level ?

We got their contact info from TSM Promotions. TSM do publicity for us and have heaps of contacts. They are from the UK . The contract with Heart Of Steel records is for Europe only

3. Your sound is deeply influenced by the Austarlian rock scene or do you have other interesting influences too ?

Yeh, our influences really vary. Others include BuckCherry, The Black Crowes, Led Zepplin

4. Your album Blood In Blue Eyes was released about 2 years ago ? What’s the feedback from this album?

It’s been really good. Especially in Europe . We’ve sold more cd’s in Europe than in Australia . The reviews for the cd have been really positive too

5. Are you in the process of writing or recording a new album ?

We’ve been really busy writing heaps of new stuff and we want to go back into the studio later this year

6. How does a live appearance of the band look like ? Describe it in your own words..

It’s pretty full on. We really try and get the crowd involved in what we do. If they’re not dancing they’re tapping their toes for sure. Sometimes they go a little nuts and jump on stage with us or this one time some guy came up to the stage and started to suck our singers toes while we were playing. We don’t know why but it was wild!

7. Do you think that latest success of AC DC could help the other Australian bands route ?

Yeh, In some way I do because it probably opened up the market a little more for bands from Australia . It got people thinking that there are some really good bands coming out of the this country

8. What’s the meaning behind the band’s name “Fallen Silver” ?

Shit. Good question. We used to be called 69 Silver but kinda got to the stage where we grew out of it. I watched a film one night. At the end of the movie with the credits rolling, I noticed it was made by Fallen Films and I thought, geez, what about ‘The Fallen’ as a name for the band. I checked the name out on some world wide band register but it was already taken. Next rehearsal, I mentioned the name to the boys and they all said ‘yeh, great name, pity it’s taken’

Then Doug said ‘what about Fallen Silver?’ Now this is where is gets a bit religious (not that we are) The 1st thing to come to my mind was the image of Judas throwing the silver coins back to the high priests after he betrayed Jesus.

Later that night when I got home, I noticed a bible on the dining table. My daughter had been using it for homework. I picked it up, and opened it. The page I opened it had reference to the exact image I had when Doug had initially mentioned the name.

The text from the bible is actually on our website and it’s from Matthew 27:3-8

Hidden meaning, yep, I reckon

9. Bourbon, fame and music, what’s your choice for your last 24 hours in earth and why ?

Man, it’s gotta be the bourbon cause if the world’s coming to an end, we’ll be too pissed to feel any pain

10. Please leave a message to your fans across the universe…

For anyone that’s searched us out to listen to us or bought our cd, a big thanks to ya. We really appreciate it!…………Peace
