Desu Taem – The Holy Spirit’s Scowling at Me
Desu Taem’s “The Holy Spirit’s Scowling at Me” begins with a rough mix of heavy rock textures that cross the line between classic American hard rock and post-grunge strength. The guitars are powerful, melodic, and cool, pushing the song forward with a strong attitude. The music has an aura of movement thanks to an expressive core running through it. The atmosphere is powerful, reminding of the heavy tones of Nickelback and Seether. However, while the instrumentation is beneficial, the vocal mix might be brighter; some vocal lines are slightly hidden, taking away from the impact that the words will probably carrying. Nonetheless, the overall impact of the track remains strong. “The Holy Spirit’s Scowling at Me” is a passionate piece of heavy rock.
