Punk Legends Chesty Malone and the Slice ‘em Ups Release 4th album, “Please Chesty, Don’t Hurt ‘em!”
Chesty Malone and the Slice ‘em Ups have released their 4th album, Please Chesty, Don’t Hurt ‘em! on Cleopatra Records. The 2nd single from the album, “The Fine Art of Choking” was released on Friday June 9th and can be streamed below. They also just made a video for the 1st single from the album, “Ticket Wallet Drugs & Chicken” which came out on St Paddy’s day this year and that can be seen on the Cleopatra YouTube channel.
The album was recorded by current Slice ‘em Ups drummer Xavier Hons at his Studio 614 in the wilds of central Pennsylvania. It was mixed and mastered by Jason LaFarge at Seizures Palace in Brooklyn, NY.
When Jaqueline Blownaparte, (Chesty Malone’s singer) wrote the words to “The Fine Art of Choking” she had envisioned a classic thrash metal tune but guitar mangler Anthony Allen Van Hoek had other ideas and wrote a Chesty-fied disco-metal anthem for the ages! This is also the band’s first release with Cleopatra Records.
Guitar mangler Anthony Allen Van Hoek says, “This album has been a long journey from Milan to Minsk, let me tell ya! We originally started writing and rehearsing it in early 2020 and we all know what happened next so we’re just stoked it’s finally coming out and holy crap it’s on Cleopatra!”
The lineup for this album of course includes singer and bringer of evil Jaqueline Blownaparte and guitar mangler Anthony Allen Van Hoek, along with drummer Xavier Hons, and mercurial bass player Diablo Rodriguez. Diablo has previously played on all of the band’s EP’s, including “Satanic Brooklyn Scum”, “Destroy All Humans” and the recently released “Turn To Crime” but not on their other three albums and he has never performed live with the band. Currently holding down the low end for Chesty is Mad Max Hill.
