Puerto Mariel – No Todo Lo Que Brilla Tiene Valor

Puerto Mariel understands this well and expresses it in their new song, “No Todo Lo Que Brilla Tiene Valor,” a moving rock/pop/folk ballad about the agony of leaving someone who is only concerned with material things. The song begins with a whistle and an acoustic guitar, creating a pleasant and  mood that sometimes sounds like the melodic rock scene of the late 1980s and early 1990s. The Spanish lyrics contribute to the nostalgic vibe; despite the sad theme, there is a sense that light is at the end of the tunnel. The guitar solo at 1:37, which is enhanced by the inclusion of strings, adds an ethereal layer to the song, enhancing it. The production is carefully designed, with a well-balanced audio mix, and there is obvious influence of classic rock music. The second guitar solo at 2:57 draws on the energy of Guns N’ Roses’ Use Your Illusion era, bringing a sense of emotion that brings the music to a dramatic close. Puerto Mariel’s composition beautifully sends important “messages” through a classic sound, creating a balance between sensitivity and melodic drive.
