Love/Hate – You’re Gonna Burn

You’re Gonna Burn begins with a hard rock groove, driven by Jizzy Pearl’s unique vocals, inviting you to rock like there’s no tomorrow. The song  represents the raw strength and rebellious spirit that marked Love/Hate’s early 1990s heyday, when their music dominated MTV and boosted the rock scene. The song’s dynamics change between 0:40 and 1:00, slowing down just enough to highlight some fantastic guitar riffs before breaking out into a short but cool solo at the 1:00 point. The song’s music is a direct throwback to the golden age of hard rock, showing that Love/Hate has not lost its edge. Then, at 2:22, a second guitar solo explodes, stronger and more “dangerous than” the first, warming up the entire song. As the vocals return about 3:00, the excitement remains strong until the very last line. Love/Hate’s You’re Gonna Burn is a song that will “burn” the heart of any rock ‘n’ roll fan. Hearing this song in 2025 makes it difficult to understand why the band isn’t as well-known as Guns N’ Roses. This is authentic, uncensored rock at its best, showing why Love/Hate belongs among rock’s outstanding bands.
