NoVanGogh – You’re Right There

“You’re Right There” is an inspiring and moving duet between Doug Sparks and co-writer Robin Goodchild which brings out the warmth and security of a truly satisfying loving relationship. Robin Goodchild sings and plays guitar on the song, with Lydia Salnikova on vocals, Brant Cole on drums, Andrew Gold on bass, W.V. Malpede on piano, and Melanie Bomar on percussion. They collaborate to create a track that feels nostalgic, effectively combining parts of classic rock with a 1990s alternative rock vibe. The song begins with groovy acoustic guitar strums, creating a catchy pop/rock vibe. As the female vocals join in, an obvious 1990s vibe emerges, bringing back memories of the era’s alternative rock classics. The arrangement perfectly mixes 1970s folk rock inspirations with a more smooth, radio-friendly sound from the 1990s. Lyrically, “You’re Right There” expresses an overwhelming feeling of loyalty and emotional safety, supporting the idea that true love provides unconditional support. Lyrics like “I don’t have to wonder if you’ll be around to calm me down” highlight the song’s calming tone, while the chorus, “You’re right there, everywhere, everywhere I need you to be,” acts as an inspiring and catchy hook that connects the music. The audio mix is carefully built, with the guitar acting as an accompaniment, contributing rhythmic flow rather than dominating the vocals. This precise mix highlights the melodic vocal harmonies, contributing to the song’s deeper meaning. The use of piano and light percussion enhances the track’s warmth, which allows to have a relaxing and interesting listening experience. Overall, “You’re Right There” is an interesting  song that combines classic and modern (radio friendly) rock elements, offering warmth and confidence. Fans of alternative rock with a sincere lyrical approach will find “You’re Right There” to be a pleasant and rewarding listen.
