A Shoreline Dream – Whitelined

The latest album from A Shoreline Dream, Whitelined, is a colorful, deep trip through shoegaze, post-punk, and psychedelic soundscapes. The record, led by multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Ryan Policky and guitarist Erik Jeffries, also includes duets with Mark Gardener (Ride), which add to its dreamy and nostalgic attractiveness.

Whitelined: The album begins with the title track, an elegant combination of shoegaze sounds that combines reverbed synths and floating vocals into an atmospheric puzzle. Its ethereal beauty establishes an atmosphere for the upcoming audio adventure.

Everything Turns (featuring Mark Gardener): This groovy highlight has a playful but elegant sound, with synth pads inspired by French duo Air. Gardener’s vocals enhance the track’s enigmatic aesthetic, creating an easygoing but emotionally releasing atmosphere.

Fear: A hypnotic mix of synthwave guitars and shoegaze ideas with Bono-inspired vocal harmonies that add a warm but different emotional impact. The slow-burning melodies sustain the album’s psychedelic aroma while creating an addictive atmosphere.

Falling Back to Reality: This music is filled with post-punk strength, recalling the nostalgic 1980s UK scene and influenced by bands such as The Chameleons. The strong basslines add energy to the atmospheric sound, resulting in an exciting and nostalgic experience.

Written in Dust (featuring Mark Gardener): The song starts with art-pop elegance, filled with dreamy synths, soft melodic guitars, and “invisible” soundscapes. Gardener’s laid-back singing style gives warmth as well as substance to the tune, making it pleasant and multidimensional.

A Spark: This is a short instrumental interlude that builds over time into a wall of sound. Faded guitar sounds transform into a psychedelic puzzle, creating a permanent mark despite the short duration.

A Simple Path of Destruction: Dynamic guitar lines interact strongly with synths, accompanied by distant, ethereal vocals. The end effect is an “exotic” composition similar of a fictional intergalactic adventure.

Lost of The Words: This instrumental track, driven by darkwave beats and reverbed guitars, inspires a cold 1980s nostalgia. Its basslines and ambient production have an eternal feel, providing an attracting reference to the past.

The Dream: A mix of electronic sounds, shoegaze guitars, and trippy indie-rock vocals, strikes a delicate balance between romance and mystery. The fuzzy production increases its mystical looks offering a deeply layered listening experience.

Hollow Crown (featuring Mark Gardener): This song, which concludes the album, has groovy percussion, an eclectic mixof acoustic guitars, synth pads, and devoted vocals. Gardener’s authentic voice is deeply moving, and his complicated sound allows listeners to peel back its complex layers.

Whitelined is an outstanding discovery of atmosphere and emotion, integrating shoegaze, post-punk, and psychedelic components to create one cohesive and memorable experience. The collaborations with Mark Gardener provide an extra degree of detail, making this album a must-listen for fans of dreamy, psychedelic music.
