Onceweresixty – Don’t Get Stuck

Onceweresixty, the brainchild of Marco Lorenzoni and Luca Sella, with the addition of Enrico Grando, continues to attract listeners with their latest track, “Don’t Get Stuck.” Building upon their previous releases, including the thought-provoking concept album “The Flood,” the band delivers an outstanding blend of psych-pop. The track opens with melodic guitar lines that immediately evoke a sense of nostalgia and longing. There’s a distinct, almost wistful quality to the music, reminiscent of bands like REM and Spacemen 3. The use of echo effects on the guitar adds depth and texture, further enhancing the dreamy atmosphere of the song. As the music unfolds, it becomes apparent that Onceweresixty has crafted a piece that seamlessly blends elements of indie rock with 1960s influences. The result is a sound that feels both familiar and fresh, drawing inspiration from surf rock and even echoing the harmonious melodies of The Beatles. Yet, at its core, “Don’t Get Stuck” remains uniquely its own, thanks in part to the band’s signature psychedelic tone. The lyrics, delivered with heartfelt sincerity, complement the music perfectly. Themes of longing pervade the song, inviting listeners to reflect on their own experiences of navigating life’s uncertainties. Lines like “I always lose time trying to take my shoes back” and “Waiting for your eyes to come back from sleep” paint a vivid picture of the human condition, while the refrain of “Don’t get stuck with it, Don’t give up” serves as a poignant reminder to persevere in the face of adversity. With its lush instrumentation, evocative lyrics, and ethereal vibe, the track is a must-listen for fans of psych-pop and indie rock alike.
