Austin’s TRASHY ANNIE band Announces Their Pacific NW Homecoming Tour in Support of Their Debut Album “Sticks and Stones”

3 min read

On the heels of their exuberant, catchy and totally original single “Born Pretty,” Trashy Annie, the raucous rabble-rousing band from Austin Texas, is hitting the road in support of their new full-length album “Sticks and Stones”, released by Cleopatra Records on May 19th, 2023. This explosive genre-mixing rock band came crashing onto the music scene fronted by the audacious force of nature Annie Davis, a trumpet player turned award-winning songwriter and the 2023 CMA of Texas Americana Artist of the Year. With a rebellious spirit and insatiable drive, Trashy Annie is fearlessly taking the music scene by storm, leaving a trail of grit and undeniable talent in their wake.

“Sticks and Stones” is a sonic rollercoaster that captivates listeners from start to finish. This high-energy album is an exhilarating fusion of explosive melodies, hooky choruses, introspective love songs, and unapologetically raw lyrics that punch you in the gut and linger in your mind long after the last track plays. The band brings a fresh and fearless approach to rock and roll, infusing every track with the storytelling depth of a country song, the grooving riffs of a rock anthem, and the unbridled passion and undeniable authenticity of a songwriter who knows who she is and where she wants to go.

Annie is carving her own path in the music industry. When the pandemic struck, she reached for her first guitar at 44 years old and discovered an innate talent for songwriting. Her soulful melodies and profound lyrics strike a chord with audiences worldwide, and Trashy Annie’s continually evolving national tours (The Trashy Annie “Hootenannies”, as they call them) have become the stuff of legend.

The band’s name, Trashy Annie, is a testament to Annie’s tenacity and refusal to be silenced. Social media comments hit her in the heart when she released her first homemade music video during the height of the pandemic, with claims that her clothes were “too young for her”. Instead of shrinking away, she embraced the negativity and reclaimed her identity with pride, and Trashy Annie was born. A symbol of resilience and an anthem for anyone who refuses to conform to societal expectations.

In a defiant act of empowerment, Trashy Annie flips the script on the naysayers by integrating screenshots of all the negative comments into the album art on her debut album. Each critique becomes a badge of honor, a testament to the band’s unwavering determination and the resilience of the human spirit. “Sticks and Stones” is not merely an album; it’s a bold statement, a celebration of self-expression, and a resounding call to rise above the noise.

“Sticks and Stones” is available now on all major streaming platforms. Prepare to be swept away by the raw emotion, electrifying performances, and unforgettable melodies that define Trashy Annie’s unique sound.
