Brand Slogan – Never Let Me Down Again
Brand Slogan’s cover of Depeche Mode’s “Never Let Me Down Again” is an experimental Goth take on the classic song. The cover features a more heavy and fuzzy sound, with the use of distorted electric guitars, pounding drums, and other instrumentation, mostly related to Metal music.
The arrangement of the cover is well-executed, with a driving guitar riff and pulsing bassline that create a sense of energy and urgency. The use of Goth vocals and sound effects adds depth and texture to the overall sound, creating a unique, distinct, and haunting atmosphere.
The production of the cover needs some further work because the sound is not entirely clean and polished, which prevents each musical element from shining through. The vocals follow the known Gothic singing style, however, the audio mix again is not very helpful in drawing further conclusions about the performance.
Overall, Brand Slogan’s cover of “Never Let Me Down Again” is an interesting idea and well-crafted interpretation of the Depeche Mode classic. If the artist insists on improving this sound, then I am sure that we will discover more interesting elements (from the orchestration perspective) in the near future.
