MICALL – Courtroom Headtrip (Track review)
Singer, songwriter, and pianist MICALL is brave. She regularly engages with her fans on Instagram, where you can find her under the account PaintAPianoPurple. The piano is MICALL’s preferred means of expression because her parents made her sit in front of it when she was 4 years old in order to convey all of her feelings. Since then, she has been creating and performing music. Her new track is called “Courtroom Headtrip” and deals with the subject of toxic relationships and how to learn from them in an empowering way. The mixed feelings inside a difficult situation are mirrored in her new track, which unleashes a mix of Pop/Rock influences consisting of both hard and soft music parts, just like the moments of a relationship. Because art is a simulation of life, Micall’s art is a storytelling of her real-life events, taking into account both the positive and negative vibes that come from them. However, as previously mentioned, the main message of her music is positive, powerful, and meaningful. To that end, the song delivers a happy mood, and the music is up-lifting, reminding me a lot of the female artists from the Post-Grunge era of the rock scene. My best advice for enjoying this song is to listen to the lyrics, then listen again to the song and pay attention to the music. This is the only way to understand the scope of the song and get the positive message.
