Vulgar Commons – Nicotine Fingers
This guitar-driven band presents an EP with a raw sound that draws influences from Post-Punk, Punk Rock and Garage Rock bands. The groovy guitar storm mixes with some psychedelic riffs and creates a vulgar display of self-destructive rock ‘n’ roll power. The lyrics deliver a direct protest to some unwelcome personas, such as an ex-girlfriend, a math teacher and other people who seem to have ruined the day of the band’s members. The anger derived from the above-mentioned lyrical themes is expressed through a chaotic and politically incorrect attack on music and emotions: The singer “spits” every word of the lyrics and makes you realise that this band is so authentic, regardless of whether you like the sound or not. The authenticity is also crystal clear in the choice of the audio mix because the band sounds as it is in reality, with no additional audio effects or other material to make them look and sound “glossy.” The anti-glossy authenticity and “real music for real people” are the competitive advantages of the band.
