MATTYMETRIC, an independent rock artist based in Bangkok, Thailand!

MATTYMETRIC’s newest single “The Lines” , with its nostalgic rock n’ roll sound of the 60’s and 70’s, shines a spotlight on the lives of entertainers and the struggles of being emotionally exhausted from performing night after night on stage with forceful yet beautiful smiles to satisfy the joys of the audience. “Sniff the lines. Read the lines… Just go out there and put on a smile” turns into a hypnotic chant to remind that the show must go on.

This inescapable and addictive cycle is not just something that happens backstage, but it has also become relevant in our everyday lives.

With the endless outbreaks of COVID-19 in South-East Asia, “The Lines” became a virtual project with vocals and guitars being recorded in a bedroom in Bangkok and the bass track being separately recorded by The Nu in Phuket, Thailand. This track also features Pisit Sombatpinpong (Huan Nap A Lean) producing his second MATTYMETRIC track through group messaging and video calls, additionally taking mixing and mastering into his own hands.

A second punch by MATTYMETRIC in bringing rock n’ roll back to the mainstream

MATTYMETRIC’s BIO :

MATTYMETRIC (also known as Matthew May) is an artist cooking up music in Thailand using a pinch of nostalgia mixed in with the blues and alternative rock. Raised on the sounds of the swinging 60s and heavy 70s, with the likes of AC/DC, Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin lighting the musical spark in picking up the guitar at the age of 12.

With the release of his first single “The Fool and The Sun”, a blues-based homage to the yesteryear sounds of the 70s with Pisit Sombatpinpong (Huan Nap A Lean) producing the track with a modern approach. MATTYMETRIC has now embarked on an adventure to bring rock n’ roll back.
