THE TIME’s JESSE JOHNSON Joins R&B Rising Star BETTE SMITH For A Soulful Cover Of MAROON 5’s “MEMORIES!”

Like a siren’s call, Bette Smith’s beautifully rich, soulful singing voice has not only attracted the attention of music critics from such prestigious publications as Billboard, Rolling Stone and The New York Times as well as fans from all over the globe, but it has also attracted some extremely talented musicians. Earlier this year, celebrated blues guitarist Kirk Fletcher joined Smith on her version of “Dance Monkey,” and now Minneapolis music legend Jesse Johnson has partnered with Smith for a brand new recording of Maroon 5’s “Memories.” Johnson, whose tenure as lead guitarist with The Time had him collaborating with The Purple One (Prince) and later Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul and many others, lays down a superb retro, guitar-driven groove, weaving in tasteful, shimmering guitar licks in between Smith’s confident singing. Together, this pair create a version of Maroon 5’s smash hit song that is truly memorable!
