Goth Metal Visionaries 616 Unveil Powerful New Single & Video!
Some artists go through multiple transformations early in their career, stumbling from one idea or genre to the next, before finding their true artistic selves. And then there are artists like Matthew Lidwin, frontman for goth metal band 616, who emerged seemingly fully formed and ready to share his vision with the world. Hailing from Milwaukee, WI, Lidwin formed 616 in 2018 and worked tirelessly to assemble a band of brothers to turn his vision into a reality. This includes guitarist Emmanuel Sotela, bassist Keith Robinson, drummer Brady Hearn and keyboardist Claudio Fabian.
Along the way, the band has been ably helped by collaborations with pro-skateboarder and fellow musician Bam Margera, drummer Gas Lipstick of HIM/Flat Earth, and multi-platinum producer John Fryer (NIN/Stabbing Westward). Fryer is co-producing 616’s new album alongside Eric Labrosse, and today band shares a sneak peak into the project with the release of “A Night Without Tears.” The single is as gorgeous as it is catchy, powerfully encapsulating all that 616 embodies. An equally gorgeous music video, shot by award-winning filmmaker Pascal Payant, elevates the song’s dramatic flair, giving Lidwin a gigantic, moody stage on which to perform his vocal magic.
