BMG Enters An A&R Deal With The Punk Musician John Feldmann
BMG has signed a new A&R and publishing deal with music producer and songwriter, John Feldmann, whose work on blink-182’s California earned a 2017 Grammy nomination. Among his many achievements, Feldmann produced California, which ranked No. 1 on the Billboard charts in July 2016 and gained the band their first-ever Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album.
For BMG, California was its second U.S. No. 1 album in just nine months following Janet Jackson’s Unbreakable. Feldmann played a key role in working with blink-182 to develop a new sound that has enabled them to reach new audiences with their music.
Feldmann has produced countless top-rated albums, with five number ones over the past three years including albums from 5 Seconds of Summer, blink-182, All Time Low and One Ok Rock in Japan. Feldmann has also done production work and songwriting on Good Charlotte’s The Young and The Hopeless, Panic! at the Disco’s Vices and Virtues, The Used debut album, and has collaborated with top-rated artists including Avicii and Steve Aoki, among many others.
Through the agreement, Feldmann will sign and develop new talent for BMG.
BMG has also signed a publishing deal with Feldmann, which will further advance BMG’s relationship with the top-performing producer. The deal typifies BMG’s integrated approach of representing both recordings and publishing under one roof.
Feldmann began his music career in 1994 when he formed Goldfinger, serving as the band’s lead singer, songwriter, producer and mixer. Since then, Feldmann has contributed to the sale of over 34 million records worldwide with nearly eight million sold over the past five years.
