Joy Division at the Greek parliament!

The Greek member of of the parlιament, Christos Karagianidis (Syriza political party) appeared yesterday at the parlιament with a T-Shirt of the band Joy Division.

The T-shirt depicted the cover of the album “Unknown Pleasures” which was released on 15th June 1979 on Tony Wilson’s Factory Records. The Greek media circulated the story and treated the fact with both interest and irony because yesterday the Greek parliament voted for some strict measures that were not “a pleasure” for the Greek people.

The previous week, the Greek parliament had also a “rock” moment when the minister of Labor, Mr. Georgios Katrougalos, referred to the song of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers, “Californication.”
