Kobalt Label Services Signs Good Charlotte

Kobalt Label Services (KLS) announced they have signed a worldwide agreement with pop-punk icons, Good Charlotte. Effective immediately, the agreement will cover the band’s forthcoming album which is scheduled to release in 2016. The agreement will encompass the full range of services offered by KLS to its clients, including digital distribution, physical distribution, marketing, international marketing and synch licensing. Formed in the mid-90s by brothers Benji and Joel Madden, the band was integral in establishing a critical mass fan base for the pop-punk genre. Following breakthrough success after the release of their second album, The Young and the Hopeless in 2002, young music lovers everywhere were putting on black eyeliner and dressing like Good Charlotte band members.

With five studio albums, two collaborations and even a brief hiatus under their belt, Good Charlotte continues to tour the country ahead of their sixth album release. Their most recent single, “Makeshift Love” released in 2015, soon after coming off their hiatus. With the Back to the Future Hearts tour coming up in the UK and Ireland, Good Charlotte is continuing where they left off in late 2015.

Good Charlotte’s Benji and Joel Madden, said of the signing, “If there’s anything two decades in music will teach you, it’s that the team is just as important as the songs. Kobalt is made up of a talented group of people, experienced in the work it takes to execute. We’re excited to work with this company on a global scale and bring the best music we’ve ever made to people everywhere.”

Richard Sanders, President of Kobalt, commented, “Benji and Joel have forged ahead on their own terms in redefining the artist to fan relationship. They are innovators both musically and in how they interact with their audience. All of us at Kobalt share their vision for world domination!”

Good Charlotte’s upcoming 2016 tour will see the band perform globally, including UK and Ireland for the month of February.
