Lost Deftones documentary
Long lost documentary about rock band Deftones is looking to be released after it was made 15 years ago. Filmmaker Andrew Bennet made a behind the scenes documentary of the band during their “White Pony” era. For one reason or another the film, titled “Entertain Me: A Film About Deftones,” was never released aside from an unfinished edit that leaked online a few years ago. Now Bennet is pushing to release the version fans were meant to see.
Bennet made the following statement:
“I am officially making it available to the most amazing fans in the world, starting 12/26/2015. It will be 10 bucks for the full and clean resolution download of the final edit of this film. Please note, that I saw the leak, and that version is so old it’s not even funny.
To recap: Entertain Me: A Film About Deftones, the real, uncut, director’s final version will be officially released on 12/26/2015. The website is being finalised today. I hope you all enjoy it, sorry it only took 15 years to get out.”
So far, only a trailer for the film has been released, which you can watch above. As of yesterday (Dec. 27) the documentary is still not out due to a security issue with the website where fans can purchase it. The film is now expected to be released within a few days.
In other news, Deftones are currently working on their next album, which they hope will be out early 2016. Their last studio album was 2012’s “Koi No Yokan.”
