Iceland’s Leading Music Service, Tónlist. Is, To Be Powered By 7digital
7digital, a leading global digital music and radio platform, and Tónlist.is announced a partnership to re-launch the first and only music service based in Iceland. Through this contract, 7digital will power the service by providing access to its music catalogue, as well as handling reporting and licensing support for the service.
Tónlist.is is a one-stop portal for Icelandic music that offers the largest digital catalogue of Icelandic music in the world. In addition, the service gives music fans within the country access to a huge catalogue of the world’s recorded music from international major and independent labels.
Tónlist.is offers both on-demand, AYCE (all-you-can-eat) streaming and à la carte downloads to users. Two streaming tiers are available: an online pay-monthly subscription at 1699 ISK per month, and an option costing 699 ISK per week which is payable via mobile phone bill.
Agúst Héðinsson, Managing Director of Tónlist.is, commented “7digital’s content management services, catalogue and technology enable us to fulfil our promise of being the number one provider of Icelandic music in the country. Following the groundwork support in terms of development and licensing, we are preparing to re-launch the improved Tónlist.is service in early 2016.”
Simon Cole, CEO of 7digital, commented “Iceland has long been known as a thriving creative community. 7digital is delighted to be working with Tónlist.is to make the country’s impressive music catalogue available to consumers, and to enable Icelandic music fans to enjoy a comprehensive collection of artists from beyond their own shores. At 7digital, we continue to work with partners who are extending the reach of digital music into new markets and to more underserved audiences.”
