TOKYO BLADE – The Edge Of The Blade

1. What is the current line up of the band?

Well it’s the classic line up from the 80’s. Myself guitar, John Wiggins Guitar, Steve Pierce Drums and Andy Wrighton Bass plus the fantastic Chris Gillen on vocals.

2. You have changed a variety of music styles during your career, how do you explain that?

I don’t think it’s changed that much? I don’t explain it I just think that we try to concentrate on writing good songs.

3. Do you accept the title of a N.W.O.B.H.M. band? If yes then please share with us how big or not, this movement was.

I would say yes we are and that the movement was very big.

4. In 1984 the band played at Camden Palace and this show was recorded from the British Television. Is there any official VHS or DVD release of this show?

Not at the moment but an official release is coming out soon.

5. Where are the previous members of the band now?

6. What is the secret of staying alive in the rock n roll business all these years?

Don’t touch drugs

7. Were you forced to work in a non musical work in order to fund the group?

Of course, and we still do because there is little money in the business for all bands and especially heavy metal bands

8. What is the current status of the band, are you writing new music?

Yes we are wriing a new album

9. What is the current plan of touring?

Definitely. We are playing South America next year and we will also be doing some dates in Europe such as Leyandas de rock in Spain.

10. What is your opinion about the current financial situation in Europe?

Corporations and banks are the universal thieves robbing the people to finance the greedy rich. Nothing has changed

11. What the fans should expect from your show in Athens, Greece at Rock You To Hell festival?

Hopefully the fans will have a really great time and we will be playing most of our early classic material.
