All UK rock magazines sales down in 2015


All UK rock magazines suffered dips in circulation in the first half of 2015, according to the latest ABC figures. Q suffered the biggest decline in the January-June period, with print sales down 13.97% to 41,103. Year-on-year, its sales fell 10.83% However, the Bauer-publication’s digital edition was up 21.44% in the first six months of 2015, rising to 2,894.

 

Total average sales of Bauer’s Kerrang! fell 16.22% overall in the past 12 months and 8.69% since January to 27,667 sales, while stable mate Mojo experienced a smaller decline – down 4.74% year-on-year, and remains the sector’s biggest seller on 67,314. Sales dipped 4.78% in the January to June period.

Time Inc.’s Uncut, meanwhile, was down 5% YoY and 7.68% in the first half of 2015, with print sales of 47,522. Sales of its digital edition rose 34.09% YoY and 14.15% to 2,065 from January to June. Figures were not released for NME, whose final paid-for edition was published earlier this month.

Top Of The Pops magazine, published by Immediate Media Company, bucked the trend with average sales of 43,015 – a 5.75% increase in the six-month period. Sales were down 7.71% YoY.
