Shooting Star sold six million records but never got paid!

According to a Facebook post by the singer of Shooting Star, Van McLain, the band sold six million records but never got paid for that. However the band does not give it up and they decide to give their music for free through their website www.shootingstarmaniacs.com. Van McLain states that Richard Branson from Virgin Records was paid but the band did not get anything out of their album sales.

Van also seems to be dissapointed of the record stores that did not pay them as well: “It’s not just the record companies that don’t pay you. Record stores were worse. That is why we only sell product at shows now. All of our stuff is on iTunes! We are pressing CDs with artwork and liner notes. They will be at our shows. We are working on mail order but still not finalized. I will let everyone know when we have it figured out!”
