Curved Air’s 45th ANNIVERSARY SHOW

The first Curved Air album ‘Air-Conditioning’ (Released on Warner Brothers Records in 1970) will be performed in its entirety for the very first time along with popular tracks from Curved Air’s past, and from their 2014 album ‘North Star’- This very important milestone one-off event will be recorded and filmed for a commemorative DVD release.  http://underthebridge.ticketabc.com/events/curved-air/ Formed by sonic trail-blazers Darryl Way and Francis Monkman with wild rock violin and otherworldly experimental sounds, Curved Air is fronted by the unique vocal and physical presence of vocalist and lyricist Sonja Kristina. She was awarded the ‘Top British Female Vocalist’ award by music press in 1971 and in 2014 she was honoured with the ‘Guiding Light’ award by PROG Magazine for her work in Progressive music.

Sonja Kristina and Curved Air have been very influential – with chart-topping groundbreaking albums amongst their releases and of course their classic hit single “Back Street Luv”. Sonja Kristina has been the one constant ‘guiding light’ through every Curved Air manifestation.

The 2014 album ‘North Star’ is the latest release from Curved Air in the 45 years since the release of Air-Conditioning in 1970. Created by the band – original members Sonja Kristina, Florian Pilkington-Miksa and Kirby from ‘Aircut’ days along with new Curved Air master musicians – Paul Sax (wild, beautiful violin), Robert Norton (keyboard extemporisation and sonic voyaging) and Chris Harris (bass guitar).
