Colin Bass (Camel) is recording a solo album

I’m currently recording tracks for my new solo album – my third in, oh let’s see, about 17 years or so. I could call it, ‘It’s About Time’, as indeed it is but I’m giving it the title, ‘At Wild End’, as the whole album is inspired by a magical place nestling in the Snowdonia foothills in North Wales. It’s a place that inspires reflection and some of the songs reflect my musical adventures over the years.

Several excellent musical friends have already contributed their musical skills to the album and in March I’ll be doing more live rhythm section sessions in a larger studio. I’m planning a handsomely packaged CD release at first. I may offer downloads at a later date. I’m actually looking for feedback from people as to whether they prefer downloads, CDs or vinyl? If you’d like to answer that question, please just reply to this mail. I thank you!

As this is an independent production, totally run by myself – no record company involved – I’ve taken the step of launching a crowd-funding campaign to help finance it; I do like to pay my musician friends and then there are studio costs, design, CD pressing etc etc, it all mounts up.

And this is where I ask you to participate in the campaign! Please follow this link:

You can simply pre-order the album, or if you’re feeling generous or reckless (preferably both), there are a few other offers you can choose from. The more I raise, the bigger the production can be. You can make a difference!
The campaign closes on March 19th. I’m projecting a release by June. Please participate! I thank you!
