Rick Springfield tweets he has signed on for HBO’s ‘True Detective’


Singer and actor Rick Springfield has confirmed that he has officially signed on for season two of the HBO made for cable hit “True Detective” via Twitter according to Thursday, Dec.11. reports from MSN. On Wednesday evening Springfield let the cat out of the bag when he tweeted his involvement with the show. Rick posted to fans that he had just “finished up for day of shooting for HBO’s True Detective, adding that he had a great time working with Colin Farrell ad Rachel McAdams.

Slip up, or great reveal to a well kept secret? HBO began filming the eight-episode season California and centers the plot around three police officers and a career criminal in eh aftermath of a well conspired murder plot. Rachel McAdams play’s character Ani Bezzerides, a Ventura County Sheriff’s detective whose uncompromising ethics put her at odds with others and the system she serves. Farrell’s role as Ray Velcoro, portrays a compromised detective whose allegiances are torn between his masters in a corrupt police department and the mobster who owns him.

Celebrities, Vince Vaughn, Kelly Reilly and Taylor Kitsch will also star in the series second season one which follows the tremendous following and popular acceptance of the network’s season one opener which starred Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson .Springfield, 65 ,has a long list of acting credentials. He played himself on Californication and played Noah Drake on General Hospital starting in 1981 and most recently in 2013. Other roles include gigs on Hot in Cleveland, Suddenly Susan and the original Battlestar Galactica.
