KRISTY MAJORS – The Killing Thrill

1. Would you like to talk us about your new album?

Well I kind of swore off doing interviews but you caught me on a good night . Haha .
The album is kristy majors & the thrill kills . It’s a raw , in your face , stripped down punk rock / glam record .

2. Who are the musicians that contributed in this album?

Kari Kane played the drums and did an amazing job . I recorded all the other instruments ,vocals ,  mixed, engineered and produced it in my studio , highway to hell .

3. How do you deal with part of the Press that accused you of plagiarism in terms of song compositions?

I think there’s a few unknowledgeable idiots  who try to spin a story to gain traffic to their websites . I laugh at it . Tim , the main songwriter and I worked out an agreement to record these songs with full permission and all publishing royalties get paid accordingly . I have nothing to hide . The trolls on the Internet have nothing better to do with their time but to generate hate and nonsense . Who fucking cares . It’s such a joke that’s beyond laughable .

4. Do you intend to tour for the promotion of the album, if yes which is going to be the line up for the touring?

No , I will not be touring on this album . I record music in my spare time as a hobby . My agency and other endeavors are far more lucrative to me . I’ve been focusing my attention on them over the past few years .I’ve said this for a decade now .I do this for fun. Whining , little bitch band members , yoko Ono ‘s , drama and getting paid no money isn’t fun .

5.
In the early 90s Majors you worked for Sony records as an A&R. How different was to work on the management side instead of being the musician?

It was great.  I actually started out in the legal department . I’m a certified paralegal and then started signing some artists that did really well in there genres . My love and passion is music . Everything I do revolves around that  . I learned so much of the business aspect and had a great mentor of Robert tauro , rip . This had a great impact in my life that steered me on the path to where I am now  .
6. How are you doing with Artists Worldwide booking agency? What are the difficulties of owning a booking agency?

AWW is going on 18 years and stronger than ever . Owning any company goes hand in hand with stress and the daily ups and downs of being a CEO . It’s a fun business most of the time and I have great personal relationships with my clients.

7. Do you think that composing music for movies and commercials is more profitable than recording music with the other projects that you are associated with?

Yes , you get paid a fee for the work you create plus keep 100% ownership of the songs and collect 100% of the royalties. There’s no over head or nonsense involved . I really enjoy the work because it can range from instrumentals to just noises, 30 second jingles or full songs . Hopefully one day I can score an entire horror movie .

8. What is current status of your relationship with the other member of Pretty Boy Floyd?

Kari and I have always got along well and never had any problems . He’s doing great in the movie world so I don’t get a chance to see him often . I have no ill feelings towards Steve . It’s just brothers who have been fighting for 25 years . We are all getting older and our priorities have shifted to family and relationships .

9. Why do you think that  Pretty Boy Floyd never really made it to be a TOP 10 selling band?

We sucked . Hahaha . Just joking . It just wasn’t in the cards . I’m grateful for the opportunity and had a blast . I’m not one of those bitter musicians to cast blame or point fingers. It was a wild , once in a lifetime ride and I wouldn’t change a thing .

10. What is your opinion about the influence of technology in the music industry?

Ummm . It’s very hard to make a living in the music industry . Everybody illegally downloads songs or just buys a single . Just look at the billboard charts today . If you sell 2-3 thousand copies in one week your probably in the top 50 . 20 years ago you were dropped from the label if that happened . I think the Internet and modern technology is good for some things but not for the entertainment industry or personal relationships  .
